A complete year of this fortnightly newspaper published by the Catholic (Trappist) priests at the Mariannhill Mission. This is the fourth year of publication, from 1 January - 15 December 1888, issue #37 - #60. Pp. (i, title-page) + 196. Many of the articles deal with the Catholic Church and the Pope, but there are some interesting articles on the Zulus, as well as Trappist missions in Natal and elsewhere. Contemporary cloth-backed mottled boards a bit rubbed, paper a bit browned, some creases where newspapers had been folded before binding. Altogether a very good copy of a complete year. Rare indeed.
